Pilgrimages and routes of the future – Open day
An online Open Day introducing the Pulchra advanced training school, dedicated to cultural pilgrimage, walking routes, and the enhancement of ecclesiastical cultural heritage.
04/06/2026
How can we accompany pilgrims in today’s world? What skills are needed to enhance cultural heritage through pilgrimage routes and walking trails? And what new professional opportunities are emerging in the field of spiritual and cultural tourism?
These questions will be at the heart of the Open Day of “Pulchra – Pilgrimages & Walking Routes”, taking place online on 24 June 2026 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Organised by the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences of Padua and Vicenza and the Homo Viator Foundation – Saint Theobald, manager of the Romea Strata in Italy, the event will present the new edition of the Advanced Training School dedicated to the enhancement of ecclesiastical cultural heritage and the promotion of cultural pilgrimage.
As cultural routes and pilgrimage paths continue to grow in importance across Europe, there is an increasing need for professionals capable of combining organisational, relational, cultural and spiritual skills. During the Open Day, participants will discover the educational programme, its objectives and the professional opportunities connected to the emerging role of the Travel & Spiritual Designer.
For Romea Strata, training and education are essential tools for fostering a more conscious and qualified culture of hospitality along pilgrimage routes. Walking is not only about reaching a destination: it is about creating meaningful connections between people, places and stories.
