Festival Biblico Vicenza 2026: two events blending spirituality, territory, and sustainability

From May 22 to 23, 2026, the Festival Biblico in Vicenza will host two special events. These appointments are promoted by the Fondazione Homo Viator – San Teobaldo in collaboration with Romea Strata. Furthermore, they are part of the larger Linfa dell’Ulivo (Sap of the Olive Tree) project.

These two moments are distinct but deeply interconnected. Indeed, they focus on highly relevant themes. These include travel, dialogue, relationship with the territory, and responsibility toward creation.

The Romea Strata as a path of encounter

As a European cultural itinerary, the Romea Strata crosses different territories, communities, and cultures. Therefore, it invites people to experience walking not just as a physical activity. In addition, it serves as a powerful opportunity for encounter, reflection, and transformation.

It is precisely from this perspective that the events proposed within the Festival Biblico take shape.

Two events:

• The first event will take place on May 22 at 3:00 PM at the Diocesan Museum of Vicenza. This appointment will be dedicated to the Franciscan sites in the city. Through a guided itinerary, participants will rediscover the presence of St. Francis in Vicenza. Consequently, they will explore the value of dialogue between peoples, cultures, and religions. This element still deeply characterizes the experience of walking routes today.
• The second meeting is scheduled for May 23 at 8:45 PM in the courtyard of Palazzo Thiene. This event will offer a reflection on the relationship between humanity, the environment, and limits. Specifically, the dialogue will start from the Canticle of the Creatures and the challenges of climate change. Speakers Luca Mercalli and Giuseppe Buffon will engage in a discussion that intertwines spirituality, science, and integral ecology.

Slow tourism and environmental awareness

Traversing a territory means learning to listen to it, respect it, and safeguard it. This awareness clearly connects the world of walking routes, slow tourism, and the reflections of the Festival Biblico.

All Festival Biblico events are free of charge and open to the public.
