How can cultural routes share European heritage while creating new connections between places, communities, and travelers?
This question lies at the heart of the “European Cultural Routes” seminar, taking place on Saturday, September 12 at the Turaida Museum Reserve in Latvia, as part of the European Heritage Days.
An afternoon focused on the role of cultural routes in modern tourism and their capacity to preserve and pass on both the tangible and intangible heritage of the regions they cross. Among the featured experiences will be Romea Strata, alongside Camino Latvia and the Singing Heritage Route.
For Romea Strata, this international forum offers an opportunity to share its experience as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe—a path that spans diverse countries and landscapes, drawing its greatest strength from the encounter of cultures, histories, and communities.
The seminar will also provide space to reflect on a way of traveling that is slow, mindful, and deeply connected to place. Because walking a route is about far more than reaching a destination: it is about building a relationship with everything encountered along the way.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Turaida Museum Reserve, Latvia. The seminar will be conducted in Latvian.
