Lithuania on foot: a path of faith among lakes, hills and Marian spirituality

In Lithuania, the Romea Strata follows the Lithuanian Camino of St. James, stretching from Žagare, near the Latvian border, to Kalvarija in the south. The route offers green landscapes, peaceful lakes, gentle hills and timeless villages, ideal for a contemplative walking experience.
Pilgrims follow the official Lithuanian Camino signage, marked by the scallop shell. In some sections, the Romea Strata logo appears alongside, highlighting the unity of European pilgrimage routes.
Lithuania’s deep Marian devotion emerges through wooden crosses, rural chapels and sacred places along the trail. Surrounded by nature and local traditions, this walking route invites silence, reflection, and an encounter with the soul of the land.
