Czech Republic: along the path of St Cyril and Methodius
In the Czech Republic, the Romea Strata follows the historic Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius, an ancient pilgrimage path crossing Moravia. The trail connects historic cities such as Brno and Velehrad—a symbolic place of Christianization in Central Europe—with rural villages surrounded by farmland, forests and gentle hills.
The main signage to follow is that of the Cyril and Methodius Route, easily recognizable by the icon of the two saints. In some sections, this is complemented by the Romea Strata logo.
The path leads through quiet, authentic areas, far from mass tourism routes, where nature, faith and culture come together. This stretch is perfect for rediscovering the beauty of simplicity and the genuine hospitality of local communities.
