Pilgrimage Official Document

The Via Romea Strata Testimonium

The Testimonium is the official document certifying the completion of your pilgrimage along the Via Romea Strata, arriving in Rome, the spiritual and historical heart of Christianity. It is a symbolic recognition for those who have travelled this ancient path with a spirit of faith, inner seeking, or a simple desire for discovery.

There are two ways to obtain the Testimonium:

  1. By completing the final 100 km on foot (or the final 200 km by bicycle) along the main route of the Via Romea Strata leading to Rome. During your journey, you must have your Pilgrim’s Credential regularly stamped. Upon arrival in Rome, the completed Credential should be presented at the pilgrim reception point, managed by Romea Strata volunteers, who will verify the credential and issue the Testimonium.
  2. Through the Miliarium system. This system allows pilgrims to “collect” stickers linked to significant locations along the Via Romea Strata, even at different times. Upon collecting 3 Miliarium, you can request the Testimonium even without necessarily having completed the final 100 km (or 200 km by bike).
