Tarvisio - Rome
The main route of the Romea Strata begins in Tarvisio. This route was travelled by thousands of pilgrims from the north-east, who went to the ports of the upper Adriatic Sea to reach the Holy Land by sea, or Rome and Santiago on foot.

The Italian Romea Strata routes
Romea Claudia Augusta
The Via Claudia Augusta enters Italy at the Resia Pass, with the submerged bell tower emerging from the waters like a sign between time and legend. From here, one walks along the ancient Roman axis that connected the Germanic world to Rome.
Romea Aquileiense
The Via Romea Aquileiense begins in Slovenia at the sanctuary of the Madonna Addolorata in Miren-Kostanjevica on Mount Grado.
Romea Postumia
The Via Romea Postumia follows a section of the ancient Roman consular road that connected Genoa to Aquileia, known as the Via Postumia, crossing the whole of northern Italy.
Romea Iulia Augusta
The route crosses the picturesque Carnia region, offering visitors the chance to admire the important Roman archaeological site of Zuglio.
Romea del Santo
Dedicated to St. Antonio of Padua, it begins in Bassano del Grappa and heads south-east until it reaches Padua, where it joins the Via Romea Annia.
