Romea Transumanza Saliso
Walking the Saliso: along the old paths of shepherds and silence
From the Altopiano’s heights, Enego opens the way southward. Forests and fresh mountain air shape the first steps through Gallio and Conco, where the land still breathes with the rhythm of shepherds and seasons. This is the transhumance trail, followed for centuries by flocks and families heading to the plains.
The route continues to Marostica, with its iconic walled squares and towers, then unfolds across the quiet countryside, through Bressanvido’s grazing lands, and into Vicenza, where Palladio’s classical architecture greets you with light and harmony.
Guided by Romea Strata signs and GPS tools, this path invites slow walking, deep looking, and a quiet connection to history on foot.
