Estonia: where the journey begins, among Baltic nature and silence

Romea Strata begins in Estonia, following the path of the Estonian Way, connecting Tallinn to Pärnu on the Baltic Sea. This first section offers peace, slowness, and deep immersion in nature, through forests, lakes and quiet rural landscapes.
Pilgrims follow the signs of the Estonian Way, part of the Baltic St. James Way, marked by the iconic scallop shell symbol. In some sections, Romea Strata signage appears alongside local markings, strengthening the route’s European unity.
The trail crosses vast forests, bogs and pristine nature, with stops in towns like Rapla, Türi or Viljandi—rich in history and spirituality. It’s a beginning that invites introspection, where the landscape teaches you to listen before you walk.
