Webinar: sustainable cultural tourism & walking routes 2026

On March 25, 2026, at 10:30 AM, an online webinar will be held dedicated to sustainable cultural tourism, with a focus on walking routes, itineraries, and cycle paths as tools for territorial enhancement.

The initiative is organized by GAL Montagna Vicentina and Fondazione Homo Viator as part of the Ruralities project. The goal is to provide an up-to-date overview of international cultural tourism trends and local development opportunities linked to long-distance itineraries.

In recent years, trails, cultural routes, and cycle paths have become essential links between communities, heritage, and visitors. Understanding territorial governance dynamics, sustainability strategies, and growth prospects is fundamental for tourism operators, local authorities, and industry stakeholders.

The webinar will be led by Maria Laura Gasparini, PhD in Geography and researcher at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Tourism (CAST) of the University of Bologna, an expert in transnational cultural itineraries, territorial governance, and sustainability.

This online meeting represents an opportunity for training and professional updates for those working in cultural tourism, territorial planning, and the promotion of walking routes.
