Romea Strata European Association invites you to the second edition of the Pilgrimage Promotion Tour 2022, the walking event starting in Aquileia on 14 May 2022 and finishing in Rome 45 days later. The 800-kilometres walk will follow the Via Romea Strata, a millenary route that crosses seven European countries for over 4,000 kilometres, from Tallin to Rome. The Foundation Homo Viator – San Teobaldo manages and animates this route.
Together with the Via Francigena and the Via Germanica, the Via Romea Strata is one of the historic routes leading to Rome. Pilgrims, walking along these routes, can discover history and culture and explore plenty of opportunities to relax in thermal baths such as in Euganean Hills thermal springs and visit the Museum of Ancient Thermalism in the province of Padua, Montegrotto Terme.
The Pilgrimage Promotion Tour 2022 is an experience that will allow all passionate walkers to enjoy the slow travel and explore wonderful natural landscapes, historical sites, priceless artworks and places connected to a common European faith and culture. The participants will also be able to meet local communities in a genuine way and visit one of the many UNESCO World Heritage sites along the route. From Venice and its lagoon, the Palladian villas, Padua and its Botanical Garden, to the Medici villas and gardens in Tuscany, the pilgrimage is a trip for every taste and an unforgettable experience.
