The Claudia Augusta<\/strong> enters Italy at Resia Pass<\/strong>, where the lone church tower rises from the lake\u2014part ruin, part legend. From there, the trail follows the ancient Roman route<\/strong> that once linked the Danube to Rome.
Through Burgusio, Prato allo Stelvio, Naturno and Merano<\/strong>, you walk alongside mountain streams, vineyards and castles, always near the river. In Bolzano<\/strong>, cultures meet in stone and language.
Then comes Ora and Salorno<\/strong>, followed by Trento and Rovereto<\/strong>, where the Bell of the Fallen <\/strong>rings with memory and peace.
