The stages

Italian Romea Strata

It traces the ancient system of routes that led from the north-east of Italy to Rome

All the italian stages of the ruote

The north-east of Italy has always been a major crossroads of roads coming from eastern Europe: depending on the point of entry on the Italian border, the roads followed different routes, albeit in the same direction, and then all converged on the same main route to Rome.

Choose how to travel it whether on foot, by bike, on horseback… at each stage you can select the right map for your way of travelling.

Tarvisio > Fucecchio > Rome

International routes branches

Apart from Tarvisio, there are three alternative entrances to Italy: from Miren, Passo Monte Croce Carnico and Passo Resia descend, three roads that join the main route. We have called them international branches because they represent gateways to foreign states.

Miren > Fucecchio > Rome

Passo Monte Croce Carnico – Plöckenpass > Fucecchio > Rome

Reschenpass > Fucecchio > Rome

National routes branches

In Veneto there are three other starting points to walk the Romea Strata, from Verona, Bassano and Enego. These ancient roads also all converge on the main route to the destination.

Enego > Fucecchio > Rome

Bassano del Grappa > Fucecchio > Rome

Verona > Fucecchio > Rome
